GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grants Accountant at Whitney Young Health prepares, analyzes and manages budgets and accounting for all grants and contracts in partnership with the various Program Directors. Requires significant hands-on detailed accounting and general ledger analysis work with advanced spreadsheet knowledge and experience. Manages other financial-related activities such as deposits, checking bank balances, reconciliations and all other assignments as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; two (2) or more years of comprehensive accounting and grant reporting experience is a plus; strong knowledge of accounting processes/ policies for non-profit organizations; use of automated systems and tools; advanced technical skill using Microsoft Office tools, including MS Excel is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. Experience with financial analysis and DHHS agency grants management: e.g. HRSA, RWC, SAMHSA CDC and New York State grant/contract requirements.

Salary range: $65,000 - $70,000 annually
