Grant Accountant - General Accountant

Reports to: Assistant Controller
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

A large regional nonprofit with more than 1,500 employees is seeking a Grant Accountant to support the financial administration of grants and contracts funded by federal, state, local and private sources. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely invoices and financial reports while ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly grant invoices, reimbursement requests and required financial reports.
• Review grant and contract terms and apply them to billing and reporting procedures.
• Gather supporting documentation from program staff and maintain organized grant files.
• Reconcile billed amounts to accounting records and grant budgets.
• Monitor grant receivables and follow up on billing questions and payments.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies or potential compliance concerns.
• Support grant-related audits and monitoring reviews.
• Work with program managers and finance team members to meet recurring deadlines and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• One to three years of accounting, billing or grant administration experience.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret contract requirements, manage monthly deadlines and work independently.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Nonprofit accounting experience, knowledge of federal Uniform Guidance, and experience with MAS 100 or Sage are preferred.
