This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Graduate Accounting Assistant will support the accounting team and staff. The graduate assistant will be supporting general clerical duties and financial functions as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (for example
VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, creating and updating PivotTable)
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Assist with reconciliation and financial analysis. Support preparation of quarterly reports and budgeting activities. Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies and assist with resolution. Perform front office duties including: answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, distributing mail, processing inquiries. Provide courteous, professional customer service. Maintain a working knowledge of the department policies and procedures. Assist with creating and reviewing invoices and weekly check processing cycle. Conduct Ad Hoc projects in support of the accounting team.
Customer Service & Collaboration:
Establishes and maintains working relationships with various ASI and University departments
Safety:
Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies. Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence. Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to
the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton Graduate Student in good academic standing.
Qualifications:
Customer service and Prior office experience – preferred Advanced Excel skills - required Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & PowerPoint)- required

Work Environment:
General office environment Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus. The working environment is generally favorable Lighting and temperature are adequate There are no hazardous or unpleasant work conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment available
