This position is responsible to ensure that the HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit and all associated locations of the HOWMET ENGINES BU are in full compliance with the import and export laws of the countries where they do business, in a manner that is consistent with Company values. Compliance with trade regulations will be achieved through a centralized framework including classification, certification, verification of import/export activities, and training of local staff. The position requires significant leadership and influencing skills as this role will engage at all levels of internal and external organizations.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Execute as a key resource to all HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit locations in providing functional knowledge, support, and solutions for the integrity of global operations and quality resolution of import/export issues throughout regional locations and clients.
• Support the management of a robust trade compliance program for the HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of procedures which define responsibility and accountability for completion of activities and supporting operational processes.
• Advise on applicable international trade regulatory and compliance matters, including but not limited to, the customs and export regulations, anti-boycott, economic sanctions regulations, and product conformity and standards.
• Further develop an ongoing, country- tailored training program that includes but is not limited to, export control and technology, Corporate Trade Standards, general awareness, risk identification, and escalation. Conduct training as required for Trade Compliance Liaisons (SPA’s), and others as required, at HOWMET ENGINES BU locations.
• Represent HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit Operations in dealings with customers, suppliers, plants, HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit and Resource Unit personnel as well as government agencies in response to general inquiries on shipments or licenses. i.e. BIS, ITAR, HMRC/MOD, BAFA
• Provide guidance to ITAR license applications, and advise on the structure, support, personnel requirements and compliance of other export licenses, agreements, exemptions or other authorizations as may be required from Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Hungary, Czech Republic, Mexico, and France.
• Provide periodic internal and external compliance assessments of HOWMET ENGINES Business Unit facilities to ensure adherence to policies, procedures and compliance of all activities and transactions with the appropriate import/export laws and recordkeeping including completion of Company Audit and Self-Assessment Program. Coordinate with Management on issues, opportunities, recommended solutions and cost savings.
• Monitor of Service Provider SOW’s, manage KPI’s and overall network relationships, to include performance, quarterly reviews, and scorecard reports.
• Remain current on regulatory/industry activities that impact all the company's business locations, including China.
• Gain expert understanding of Company intermediary and anticorruption process to effectively determine and manage intermediary relationships as necessary.

• Experience conducting training and presentations with an ability to effectively communicate legal and procedural requirements
• Successful candidate will thrive in working in a small team with limited supervision, hands on designing and building compliance modules; and
• Solid computer skills: including MS Office Suite and ERP systems
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or not less than 14 years’ experience within aerospace industry in trade compliance.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in international trade compliance.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Trade compliance experience in the Aerospace industry
• Complete working knowledge of all US Compliance Rules and Regulations. Knowledge of BIS, DTC, OFAC and all other related trade legislation, rules, and regulations.
• Experience in implementing compliance processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Export Management System process controls
• Working knowledge of Anti-Boycott Compliance.
• Experience in interacting with senior level management and all levels of employees.
