General Ledger Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in our West Valley, UT location. This person will be responsible for maintaining accurate costing data, identifying and resolving discrepancies in our general ledger, and working with cross-functional teams to identify best practices and standardize processes across all company locations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as experience leveraging these skills to resolve issues and improve processes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily transactions impacting product costs at multiple sites across the US
• Analyze cost data and perform variance analysis on monthly business activities including raw material purchases, production orders, inventory, and labor
• Identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Monitor and analyze cycle count activity and work with purchasing and operations to understand and identify the root cause
• Monitor and validate cost of goods sold throughout the month and at month end
• Provide guidance and respond to cost inquiries across the business
• Prepare and maintain accurate month end reconciliations for inventory accounts
• Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities and cost centers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to spot inaccuracies
• Ability to organize and analyze large data sets and tell the story behind the numbers
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other teams to work through and resolve issues
• Advanced knowledge of MS excel and experience working in an ERP
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in a manufacturing company preferred but not required
