Job Summary
Morris Technology Solutions is seeking an Accountant to support the day to day accounting operations of our growing organization. This hands on role will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, month end close, financial reporting, payroll review, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast paced environment where they can make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and month end close.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Generate client invoices, manage collections, and maintain accurate customer and vendor records in QuickBooks Online.
- Process vendor payments, employee reimbursements, commissions, and payroll related accounting entries.
- Prepare recurring financial reports and assist with budget to actual reporting.
- Monitor cash activity, support cash forecasting, and assist with banking transactions.
- Support sales tax filings, annual tax preparation, and retirement plan compliance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and system efficiencies.
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support business operations and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience performing full cycle accounting and month end close.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with ADP or a similar payroll system.
- Experience working in a small business, staffing, consulting, technology, or professional services environment.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within accounting operations.
