As an Individual Contributor, this role performs financial planning and analysis activities, including financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis, to support business decision-making. Depending on experience and level, this role ranges from executing core analytical processes to leading financial planning efforts and serving as a strategic partner to business units. The position contributes to interpreting financial results, identifying trends and risks, and delivering insights that inform operational and financial decisions. More experienced incumbents operate with increased independence, lead planning processes, and provide recommendations that influence business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis – Prepares, develops, and analyzes financial and management reports, explaining key variances and performance drivers, and delivering insights to support business decisions. At more advanced levels, leads reporting efforts and provides recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning – Supports and progressively leads components of forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial strategies. More senior levels facilitate planning processes and help define assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
- Trend & Variance Analysis – Interprets financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance risks, and communicates findings clearly to stakeholders. Applies increasingly complex analysis and develops actionable recommendations at higher levels.
- Advanced Data Analysis & Modeling – Analyzes data sets to evaluate financial performance and operational drivers. At more advanced levels, conducts in-depth analysis and develops financial models to assess risks, opportunities, and business scenarios.
- Process & Data Improvement – Maintains and enhances financial data integrity, reporting tools, and analytical methodologies. Identifies opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of financial processes.
- Business Partnership & Stakeholder Support – Collaborates with business unit managers to provide financial insights, respond to ad hoc requests, and support decision-making. At higher levels, serves as a trusted advisor and influences business outcomes through analysis and recommendations.
Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in finance, accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 – 2 years of work experience in accounting, finance or related field. Financial reporting experience preferred. Banking or financial services industry preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point). Knowledge of or ability to use bank systems and software preferred.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Must be analytical, detail oriented and organized. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities. Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
