Our client, a growing financial service-based company, is looking for a full-time Financial Controller to join their accounting team for the management of the company's financial planning.
The right candidate will supervise all accounting-related activities in an organization and duties include maintaining internal controls over financial reporting, presenting financial reports to an executive team, and overseeing the preparation of budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosures
- Providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policymaking and financial strategizing
- Perform bill reconciliation, verify general ledger data entry and ensure accuracy in entries and compare system reports to balances
- Collect W-9 information from vendors and store it in the accounting system ensuring all credits are received for outstanding memos
- Oversee the customer's account set up including record of payments, billing and collections, and payment schedules – send invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding balances
- Oversee cash management and banking by issuing stop payments, processing fund transfers, initiating customer refunds, handling employee reimbursements, downloading bank activity, and allocating to appropriate GL accounts and classes
- Handle questions and concerns customers have with billing in a manner that allows the company to collect on balances while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Liaise with outsourced CFO team to ensure books are closed timely and reflect accurate data and produce reports and handle other ad hoc tasks for the CFO team
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of solid working experience as a Financial Controller
- Expertise in financial management, accounting principles, and application of accounting fundamentals to provide fair credit practices and collection regulations to ensure efficient and effective finance operations
- Proven ability to accurately calculate numerical data, manage accounting figures and analyze financial records of cash, checks, credit transactions
- Outstanding mathematical and analytical skills, strong knowledge of taxation and corporate legal/statutory requirements, experience in external or internal auditing, and comfortable adapting to new software and technology
- Strong knowledge of using operating spreadsheets and accounting software for AR/PR processing, Bookkeeping software and other AP/AR applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to professionally communicate with internal/external teams for account accounting and financial activities
