This is a high-visibility role reporting to the CEO, with broad ownership across financial reporting, cost accounting, payroll, tax, and purchasing.
Established in 1973 and based in Mississauga, our client is a manufacturer of aluminum welding solutions known for combining advanced production processes with custom-built equipment.
The successful candidate will own the full accounting function, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide the financial insight needed to support continued growth in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

ROLE: Financial Controller

Core Responsibilities
- Manufacturing/Cost Accounting: Calculate standard costs, manage inventory valuations, and analyze variances. Understand and analyze cost of goods sold, FIFO and LIFO characteristics in rising or decreasing cost environment.
- Financial Reporting & Close: Own the general ledger, performing monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Accounting Management: Responsible for AP/AR, payroll, and manage cash flow.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage external audits.
- Purchasing: Work with inventory analyst and provide purchase orders to suppliers.
- Sales support: Update customer price lists and create reports in Microsoft Excel as needed
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certification: CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
- Experience: 5–10+ years of accounting experience, specifically within manufacturing (inventory, COGS, cost accounting).
- Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing inventory and unit economics.
- Analytical skills to interpret and manipulate operational data.
- English must be either first language or completely fluent
Nexal terms:
Work hours – generally M-F 9-5
Vacation – start 1st year with 3 weeks
Starting pay - $90,000 - $120,000 depending on qualifications Annual bonus 2-3%
