Financial Analyst - Temporary Contract - 12 Months

About the Position

The Financial Analyst is part of the Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, he/she plays a key role in the preparation and dissemination of periodic financial information. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, consistency, and relevance of financial data. The analyst is also involved in tasks related to treasury, gold sales, taxation, and tax files.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present periodic financial performance reports (monthly, quarterly, annual). Perform key steps in the book-closing process, data transfer for consolidation, validation, and publication of periodic financial statements. Analyze and validate transactions related to gold and by-product sales, as well as all other elements associated with the revenue cycle and inventory tracking. Participate in treasury-related tasks such as bank reconciliations and supplier payments. Analyze and monitor complex accounting transactions, including lease agreements, debt tracking, and assets related to decommissioning, environmental restoration and rehabilitation, royalties. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards in published reports. Update and improve process descriptions and internal controls. Prepare various analyses and documents requested by senior management, corporate bodies, or government authorities.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. 3 to 5 years of corporate experience in a similar role. Bilingualism, French & English is essential. Member of the CPA Order. Knowledge of the mining industry (an asset). Knowledge of integrated management systems (SAP is an asset).

Working Conditions

Schedule: 5 working days followed by 2 days off. Remote work with occasional travel to the mining site. Eleonore mine site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or and Wemindji)
