Job Description:
The Dealer Accounting & Controls team is responsible for ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of accounting transactions from administration systems through to the General Ledger for the mutual fund dealership business. This includes supporting trust and operating bank account activities, reconciliations, cash control monitoring, and financial reporting processes.
Reporting to the Manager, Dealer Accounting & Controls, the Financial Analyst is responsible for performing detailed and complex reconciliation work, investigating exceptions, and supporting a strong financial control environment across Dealer Accounting processes. This role focuses on the accurate execution of accounting, reconciliation, and control activities, with an emphasis on issue identification, analysis, and timely resolution in a deadline-driven environment.
What will you do?
Core Accounting & Reconciliations
Prepare complex balance sheet, bank, trust, and suspense account reconciliations, ensuring items are identified, investigated, and resolved on a timely basis
Perform detailed analysis of accounting transactions and feeder system outputs to ensure completeness and accuracy in the General Ledger
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a strong focus on accuracy and control
Investigate reconciling items, cash exceptions, out-of-balance conditions, and operational issues, working with internal stakeholders to support timely resolution
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deliverables, including reconciliations, analysis, and reporting requirements
Support internal, external, and regulatory audit requests by providing accurate and timely information
Team Support & Process Discipline
Follow established procedures and controls to ensure consistent execution of daily, monthly, and ad hoc accounting activities
Escalate exceptions, control concerns, and unresolved reconciling items promptly to support issue resolution and risk management
Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and team members to support collaboration and service delivery
Maintain accurate supporting documentation and contribute to up-to-date procedural materials to support consistency and cross-training
What do you need to succeed?
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
Relevant experience in accounting, reconciliations, or financial analysis roles
Understanding of account reconciliations, journal entries, and basic financial controls
Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate and resolve exceptions with accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
Financial services, mutual fund, or trust accounting experience
Knowledge of accounting systems and operational platforms such as SAP, Univeris, or similar tools
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work in a deadline-driven environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
