JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMUARY
Incumbent assists in the preparation of the short-term and long-term financial plans. Assists in the capital planning process, including development and review of project justifications based on key financial metrics such as NPV, ROI and PI. Routinely prepares and provides other financial analysis to support all areas of the company, ensuring we are making financial decisions based on quantitative information. Provide leadership, training and support to department interns and other teammates.
This role requires 4 days in office for up to 6 months to learn the role and then will be able to shift to 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote. This role is located in St Louis, Missouri.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of the long-term (3-5 year) financial plan, the annual financial plan and the weekly forecast. Responsible for reliability of the forecast details and variance analyses.
Assist in the capital planning process, including development and review of project justifications based on key financial metrics such as NPV, ROI and PI. Responsible for sunset reviews on past projects to drive future capital decision-making and for managing the capital expenditure request and approval process.
Prepare financial modeling and analyses related to special projects (such as acquisition, divestiture and valuation analyses), as well as other ad hoc analyses as needed, to optimize the use and allocation of resources.
Routinely prepare and provide other financial reporting to support other areas of the company.
Provide leadership, training and support to department interns and other teammates
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Other Requirements: Advanced degree and/or certifications in Finance or Accounting (e.g., MBA, CPA, CFA).
Minimum Years of Experience: Less than 1 year
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge
Strong technical and quantitative skills, including knowledge of current accounting and finance practices, and supermarket/retail industry knowledge
Creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Superior computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows operating environment, Google Suite and Gemini)
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated leadership skills, including behaviors/attitudes that gain respect and inspire future leaders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and commitment to take complete ownership and responsibility for areas of accountability and work independently
Ability to learn to use Alteryx, PeopleSoft and other relevant tools
