Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Financial Analyst, Philanthropy & Restricted Funds in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with Finance, Advancement, and operational departments to ensure the accurate stewardship and utilization of philanthropic assets. This is a Full-Time 40 hour per week opportunity.

In this role, you’ll support the Hospital's financial operations. You’ll manage the administration, monitoring, and reporting of philanthropic gifts, endowment accounts, and donor restricted funds. 

You’ll be successful if enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have strong attention to detail. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain individual fund accounts and ensure philanthropic gifts, donations, and endowment contributions are accurately recorded and allocated to their appropriate fund designations. 

  • Review departmental expense requests charged to restricted funds to determine initial eligibility and compliance with donor restrictions, fund purpose, and established Hospital policies. 

  • Assist in the calculation and administration of annual endowment spending allocations in accordance with established spending policies, board approved methodologies, and donor agreements. 

  • Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports detailing fund balances, contributions, expenditures, investment activity, and available to spend balances for department leaders and other stakeholders. 

  • Compile financial data, supporting schedules, and documentation  for annual external audits, financial statement preparation, tax filings, and regulatory reporting. 

  • Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and supporting analyses for donor stewardship reports and other philanthropic reporting needs in partnership with the Hospital Advancement team.

You may be a strong fit for this role if you are detail-oriented and have progressive experience in finance functions. You enjoy working as part of a team, communicating clearly, and supporting both patients and providers. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field . 

  • One to three years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, bookkeeping, or a related finance function. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, higher education, foundation, or other mission driven organization is preferred. 

  • Exposure to fund accounting, endowment accounting, restricted funds, or philanthropic financial operations is highly desirable. 

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial management software, or fund accounting platforms preferred. 

  • Familiarity with fund accounting, donor restrictions, and GASB or FASB reporting standards is preferred.
