Summary
To support the Assistant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting department. All activities are to be in accordance with CHI policies & procedures, and the CHI quality manual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Develop reporting tools for profitability, gross margin trends, cost reductions projects, and overhead spending.
- Perform analysis to provide management with financial and operational data and recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT/Business Systems Analyst to develop reports from the ERP system data.
- Prepare, review, and distribute daily reports on operations and sales.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing capital expenditure projects. Including return on investment, monitoring spending and project completion.
- Provide detailed cost information and data analysis for inventory, including costing and inventory reserves.
- Coordinate inventory cycle counts and physical observations. Review results, identify trends and process improvements.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting packages. Prepare bridges to actual results.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Strict adherence to internal control procedures.
- Participate in SOX compliance activities.
- Perform backup duties for others in the Finance department.
- Contribute to team effort.
- Other job duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years of equivalent Accounting experience.
Language Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work independently and with teams across a broad spectrum of departments and personalities.
Other Skills and Abilities
- General and cost accounting experience, financial reporting experience, working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, strong spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel) skills, good analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, good understanding of fundamental accounting transaction flows including system interfaces. ERP and Microsoft Access experience a plus.
