Job Description

The Financial Analyst supports the Registries Evolution branch by managing budgets for modernizing Alberta's Land Titles and Motor Vehicle systems through financial reporting, contract management, and cost analysis. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly forecasts, validating vendor invoices in SAP Ariba (1GX), submitting accrual entries, and maintaining process documentation for audits. Candidates must have a relevant post-secondary degree, three years of experience with SAP/Ariba, and a strong background in public sector accounting standards and financial modeling.

Requirements

  • Education: Relevant post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards.
  • SAP & Ariba Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience using SAP and Ariba for contract workspace management.
  • Financial Reporting: At least 3 years of experience in ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
  • Accounting Systems: Minimum 3 years of experience in creating processes, managing budgets, and forecasting within accounting systems.
  • Accounting Skills: Ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage financial data and records.
  • Background Check: Must be willing to provide a clean criminal record check before joining.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, accountability, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
