Brief Job Description:

The Financial Analyst II reports to the Director of Data, lResearch and Modeling within the Provider Finance Hospitals department. The Financial Analyst II performs highly complex financial analysis work and modeling related to various Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) projects. Work involves compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating financial data; preparing reports and responding to inquiries; and recommending appropriate action to resolve financial and regulatory problems. Work also involves compiling, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating financial data to project anticipated reimbursement rate implications related to policy changes, legislative changes and modifications to services and deliverables related to the HHSC client services programs. Work also involves planning, developing, and implementing the coordination of updates to HHSC Provider Finance Department staff. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field is generally preferred. Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, or provider reimbursement preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
