Overview
The Avison Young Los Angeles office is seeking a Financial Analyst, able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with a team of senior multi-Residential brokers.
The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $85,000 to $95,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare debt and/or equity offering memorandums for commercial real estate transactions, including market research and write-ups, financial modeling and composition of executive summaries (details below)
- Create and perform complex financial analyses using Argus and Excel with minimal supervision, including cash flow projections, investor waterfall models, and sensitivity analyses for items such as breakeven cost
- Create text narratives in Word and PowerPoint accurately and efficiently synthesizing and summarizing multiple info sources and data points.
- Review and summarize/analyze property and tenant data including income/expense statements, leases and lease abstracts, sales and lease comparables, market/location info and trends, tenant credit info and other major fundamental data points such as major employment drivers and local amenities
- Provide support to Producers during the marketing process by distributing marketing materials, contacting and answering lender questions, participating in in-person and virtual pitches to clients/lenders/investors, and updated stakeholders in deal progress/status
- Facilitate deal execution by organizing closing calls and tracking closing checklist items
- Assist with preparation of presentation and pitch materials for new business pursuits
- Assist in ad-hoc work as required
Qualifications
- Proficiency in ARGUS and Microsoft Excel are required.
- Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic credentials.
- 1-3 years of work experience in Finance or Real Estate preferred.
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables.
- Familiarity and some experience abstracting leases and understanding of various lease structures.
- Strong computer orientation and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word software is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (applicant will need to submit previous work product).
- Ability to work independently and within a team on a wide variety of projects.
- Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload.
- Ability to reprioritize tasks on a daily basis given varying team requirements.
- Advanced understanding of real estate fundamentals, economic metrics, and research processes.
- A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
