First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis team.

Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (hours may vary)
Compensation:
The pay range for the role is $58,000 - $73,000/yr; commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst role at First Hawaiian Bank is responsible for assisting the External Reporting and Regulatory Reporting teams with preparation of quarterly reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Federal Reserve Bank (FRB). As a liaison between the External and Regulatory Reporting teams, the Financial Analyst works closely with business partners throughout the bank as well as with the external auditors. Recurring work includes running detailed loan and deposit reports and net interest margin analyses used for quarterly reporting into regulatory agencies, the board of directors, and audit committee, as well as for monthly reporting into senior management.
SEC, Regulatory and Management Reporting Preparation (40%)
- Prepares and reviews SEC reports and related disclosures, including, but not limited to Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K (earnings releases), and other required filings
Prepares and reviews Regulatory reports and related disclosures, including, but not limited to the Call Report, FR Y9C, and FR Y9LP, and other related filings
Data Validation, Reconciliations, and Reporting Quality (30%)
- Performs detailed tie-outs, reconciliations, and validation procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of information used in reporting deliverables
Acts as a liaison between the External and Regulatory Reporting teams with duties including, but not limited to, reconciliations between reports filed under different sets of reporting instructions
Board and Management Reporting Support (15%)
- Assists in the preparation of the quarterly reporting to the Bank’s and Company’s Board of Directors and Audit Committee
Prepares monthly financial reports and variance analyses for Senior Management and other stakeholders
Internal Controls & Audit Support (10%)
- Supports the design, maintenance, and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting
Assists with audit requests, preparation of supporting documentation, and maintenance of reporting control support files
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of SQL and databases is helpful
- Familiarity with financial institutions and SEC/regulatory reporting requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Attention to detail, strong time management, and project management skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, for creating complex worksheets
