The main duties and responsibilities of the role include the following:
Responsibilities.
Produce periodic management accounts and reports
Develop and produce periodic programme wide project reporting
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure effective internal controls operate within the business unit
Identify & document improvements to control processes & procedures.
Budget, Forecast & 5 Year Planning preparation.
Collation of project cash flow projections variance explanation and template completion
Assist with auditing processes and procedures
Respond to audit queries both internal and external as they arise
Provide training to non-finance colleagues as required
Liaise with our procurement team as required
Assisting the introduction of new systems and developing financial tools.
Essential Requirements
Candidate must be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office with particular proficiency in the Excel package.
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work as part of a finance team and with technical project team members who are not from a financial background
Forecasting experience
A keen understanding of project expenditure, accruals, retentions and cash flow
A strong understanding of management accounting
An understanding of Irish Tax Law and the impact of taxation on project budgets and forecasts
Demonstrated ability in the preparation of high quality timely and consistent financial reports for internal and external use
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with non-financial colleagues
Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines and to work on a diverse range of tasks at once
Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter
Desirable:
A knowledge of the SAP Financial, Controlling & Project Management modules.
Knowledge of public procurement
