Job Summary:
Title: Finance Manager - Sports
Location: New York, NY (On-Site, 5 days a week in office)
The Role:
Roc Nation is a full-service entertainment company with a mission to create, support and elevate the world’s most impactful artists, athletes, and brands. We are looking for a Finance Manager to own the P&L and day-to-day financial operations of our sports agency.
This is a hands-on role at the center of our business department. You’ll be the engine behind our accounting, billing and reporting functions, working closely with agents, consultants, and leadership across all sports divisions. The right person is a high-energy problem solver, has a can-do mindset, organized, detail-obsessed, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of clients and moving parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Month-End Close
Own the month-end close process, including accruals, and account reconciliations across all sports divisions
Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with contract terms
Manage commission expense reconciliations, bonus tracking, and P&L reporting by sport, client, and deal type
Accounts Receivable & Billing
Manage the end-to-end invoicing cycle for 300+ clients on a bi-annual schedule, including invoice creation, distribution and collections follow-up
Track invoice status, outstanding balances and payment receipts; maintain clean AR records at all times
Coordinate directly with financial advisors/consultants on remittances, disputes, tax documentation (1099s) and reconciliations
Notify agents and internal stakeholders upon receipt of client payments
Financial Reporting & Cash Flow
Prepare weekly cash flow schedules and support rolling forecasts
Generate recurring financial reports segmented by sport, client, booking type, and revenue category
Lead and support weekly and monthly AR review meetings across multiple divisions
Assist with budgeting and expense tracking, including equipment spend and pre-draft player stipends
Contract & Revenue Tracking
Enter and maintain athlete contracts, deal terms and commission structures across internal systems (Airtable or equivalent)
Track invoicing dates, revenue recognition schedules, and deal milestones for salaries, bonuses, brand deals, trading cards and memorabilia agreements
Support union reporting requirements and maintain compliance documentation
Budgeting & Forecasting
Partner with FP&A to build and maintain financial models, and to participate in the annual company-wide budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
Support FP&A with evaluating project P&L’s (including T&E) and revenue pipelines
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
5–8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with strong command of AR, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems required
Experience with Airtable or other workflow/database platforms strongly preferred
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume data with accuracy
Strong communicator who can work fluidly with agents, advisors, and senior leadership
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple deadlines independently
Preferred Background:
Prior experience in a sports agency, talent management, entertainment or professional sports organization
Familiarity with athlete contracts, NIL deals, commission structures and sports marketing agreements
Experience supporting union reporting or multi-entity financial environments

The expected compensation for this position is:
$108,000.00 USD - $135,000.00 USD** Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
