Your role

You will own the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of both IFRS and local Dutch GAAP financial statements for Hub Organoids Netherlands. You will lead Month End closing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to build robust, scalable processes. You and your team will act as a valued business partner, driving improvements in processes and tools that enable automation and simplification in sales recognition, forecasting, profitability monitoring, and cost allocation. You will be an inspirational, hands-on leader overseeing two direct reports, and you will influence decision making even without formal authority.

You excel in ambiguity and take ownership of building strong financial processes that you document with local and global colleagues, including collaboration with the Chief Administration Officer of Benelux. You will drive the integration changes of Hub Organoids into Merck’s way of working, including processes, tools, and improvements. You are curious and ambitious about Data and AI Literacy and seek opportunities to apply them to governance and planning. This role requires clear communication, proactive risk management, and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable plans. You will balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution, ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-compliant reporting. You will contribute to shaping the financial governance framework that supports sustainable growth and value creation for the Hub Organoids entities in the Netherlands. You will report to the Chief Administration Officer, Benelux, and collaborate across local and global functions to deliver consistent, high-quality financial stewardship.

• You bring 7+ years in finance with real exposure to multi-entity, cross-functional environments, including financial reporting, controlling, or audit in a complex multinational.
• You have a deep understanding of IFRS and Dutch GAAP and can apply judgment beyond mere citation of standards.
• You have proven FP&A and forecasting experience and have built processes from scratch that delivered tangible results.
• You are comfortable saying, “this isn’t covered in the guidebook, but here’s what I’m going to do,” and you act decisively.
• You are a hands-on leader who loves developing people while remaining operational and involved in the details.
• You display an ability to influence decisions without formal authority and to manage ambiguity with confidence.
• You have a track record of cross-functional collaboration and strong stakeholder management, including interaction with executive leadership.
• Relevant professional qualifications (CFA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) are advantageous, but mindset and practical impact matter more than certificates.
