The Finance Director supports the Chief Financial Officer with the financial management of the Arkansas Foodbank. This postion oversees financial operations and continuous improvement of processes for financial management activities including general ledger entry and reconciliation, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants management, analysis, and reporting as well as internal controls design, implementation, and oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.
The Finance Director will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.
1. Provide leadership and support to the Finance Department in execution of all processing and reporting responsibilities.
2. Work with the Chief Financial Officer to establish and maintain proper internal controls over company assets and financial transactions.
3. Oversee completion of all banking, investment and account reconciliations.
4. Act as administrator for payroll, retirement plan and company credit cards.
5. Serve as backup for payroll and accounts payable processing.
6. Engage in accurate and timely preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports.
7. Support the grant and restricted fund activities of the Foodbank through preparation of reports and budgets as needed.
8. Participate with the Chief Financial Officer in the preparation of the annual budget for the entire Foodbank and by department and program.
9. Participate with the Chief Financial Officer in the annual audit for the Foodbank carried out by external auditors.
10. Prepare and update Network Activity Report (NAR) information pertinent to financial information for Feeding America.
11. Develop and manage the Finance departmental budget in coordination with the CFO.
12. Develop and track metrics surrounding finance functions.
13. Thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, payroll, tax, and related information.
14. Effectively manage personnel issues such as the recruitment, training, and discipline of staff.
a. Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
b. Empower direct reports to make their own decisions.
c. Establish clear performance and behavioral expectations for all employees
15. Exemplify Arkansas Foodbank values and mission during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings.
16. Prepare and submit required reports to the Chief Financial Officer and outside entities on a timely basis.
17. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

19. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
20. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.
21. Attend required staff meetings, training, and conferences.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred for the candidate or employee, however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from an accredited university. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum six (4) years of related work experience with at least one year of supervisory experience.
- Experience with non-profit organizations preferred.
- Proficiency with computer operations including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles. Including but not limited to: general bookkeeping, GAAP, IRS & DOL finance related regulations & required 990 filing obligations.
- Knowledge of budgeting and administration.
- Proof of insurance required
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a preemployment drug screening
