Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting in the management, administrative direction, and coordination of staff and activities of an operational unit or program within a budget, financial, and/or accounting services area. Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in fiscal and accounting services and programs, which may include grants compliance, budget analysis, account reconciliation, purchasing, payroll, collections and financial reporting. Participates in strategic planning, staffing decisions, and other key areas. Assumes delegated authority/responsibility to recommend and implement policies within area of responsibility. Analyze and recommend new or updates to business systems for efficient and effective operating Assists in developing and maintaining partnerships throughout the Agency in order to attain departmental goals and objectives. Conducts research as appropriate for projects or initiatives within the assigned section. May be assigned budgetary responsibilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

At least nine years of verifiable related experience in accounting or governmental accounting. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or governmental accounting may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

Pay:

This position is hiring at $85,000.00 per year.
