Finance/Accounting Intern

About the Role:

The Finance/Accounting Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in various aspects of finance and accounting, including data analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals to gain insights into financial decision-making processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department. By the end of the internship, the candidate will have developed a solid understanding of financial principles and practices, as well as practical skills that are essential for a successful career in finance. Responsibilities:

• Assist team in preparing (daily and monthly) financial reports
• Support the forecasting process by researching and compiling macro and micro economic inputs
• Review financial models
• Assist in ad hoc analysis of varying subject matter including trends, loan portfolio performance, net interest margin and other key metrics
• Prepare presentation materials
• Partner with business units to assist with financial performance analysis
• Oversee and execute a departmental research initiative focused on identifying operational inefficiencies, recommending actionable solutions, and contributing to cost reduction and organizational profitability.
• Engage in professional development opportunities, including workshops and training programs, to strengthen competencies and support career advancement.

Skills:

• Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills 
• Currently enrolled in a university, majoring in Finance or Accounting or Economics or related field. 
• Excellent written skills to be able to document technical specs and system design
• General understanding of finance and economic concepts

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $19/Hour to $20/Hour.
