Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced ERP Payroll Lead to join our CGI team supporting ERP modernization initiatives for our Public Sector clients.
This position is located in San Deigo, CA (preferred); however for the right skillset remote can be considered.
Must be willing to work PST hours. Please note some minimal travel may be required.

As the Payroll Lead, you will serve as the primary functional expert for Payroll, working closely with client stakeholders, project leadership, technical teams, and cross functional functional leads to deliver successful ERP solutions that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Payroll operations and related HR functions, along with experience implementing enterprise ERP solutions.
This role requires leadership in business process analysis, solution design, system configuration, testing, data conversion, and production readiness throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

How you'll make an impact


Lead the Payroll functional workstream throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of Payroll solutions aligned with client business objectives. 
.            Facilitate Payroll business process workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and design reviews to define future state Payroll processes and system capabilities
.            Lead fit gap analysis, solution design, and functional decision making to optimize Payroll business processes and maximize ERP functionality
.            Develop and maintain functional specifications, business process documentation, configuration workbooks, and other Payroll project deliverables
.            Collaborate with client Payroll leadership and cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration with Human Resources, Time and Labor, Benefits, Finance, General Ledger, and other enterprise functions
.            Provide functional leadership for Payroll configuration, payroll processing, payroll accounting, tax reporting, retroactive payroll, deductions, benefits, and regulatory compliance
.            Support data conversion, interface design, reporting, and reconciliation activities to ensure complete and accurate Payroll processing
.            Lead Payroll testing activities, including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), End to End Testing, Parallel Payroll Testing, Payroll Validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
.            Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Payroll functional issues while providing guidance to project teams throughout implementation and post production support
.            Partner with technical teams to support Payroll interfaces, integrations, reports, and business intelligence solutions
.            Serve as the trusted advisor to client Payroll leadership by providing functional expertise, implementation guidance, and recommendations based on industry best practices
.            Lead, mentor, and provide knowledge transfer to Payroll analysts and junior team members while promoting continuous process improvement and delivery excellence

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

What you'll bring


.            7–10 years of experience implementing enterprise ERP solutions such as CGI Advantage, Workday, Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft, with extensive functional expertise in Payroll and related HR business processes
.            Strong preference for experience implementing CGI Advantage Payroll and supporting large scale public sector ERP implementations
.            Demonstrated experience leading the Payroll functional workstream through all phases of ERP implementation, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post production support
.            Extensive knowledge of Payroll business processes, including payroll processing, payroll accounting, tax reporting, benefits, deductions, retroactive payroll, time and labor integration, leave administration, and regulatory compliance
.            Experience supporting business process re engineering, organizational change management, and cross functional ERP transformation initiatives
.            Strong understanding of ERP implementation methodologies and the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
.            Experience leading Payroll testing activities, including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), End to End Testing, Parallel Payroll Testing, Payroll Validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
.            Experience supporting data conversion, interfaces, reports, and payroll reconciliation activities to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
.            Proven ability to facilitate workshops, lead functional design sessions, conduct fit gap analysis, and translate business requirements into functional specifications
.            Strong analytical, problem solving, facilitation, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members and guide client stakeholders
.            Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional, technical, and executive teams
.            Highly self motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced consulting environment
.            Experience working in Agile delivery environments; SAFe or other Agile certifications are considered an asset
.            Willingness and ability to travel as required to support client engagements.
Desired Skills:
.            Experience implementing Payroll solutions for state or local government organizations
.            Experience with Payroll integrations, reporting, and third party payroll interfaces
.            Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools
.            Professional certifications related to Payroll, ERP, Agile, or Project Management are a plus

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,800.00 $176,300.00.
