    Location: District Office & Jr/Sr High School (serving the greater District)

    Position Type: Full-Time, 244 Days, 8 Hours/Day

    Salary Range: $16.40 � $25.63 per hour (commensurate with experience)

    Position Summary

    The Bookkeeper performs essential accounting functions to support the financial operations of the District, the Jr/Sr High School, and the broader organization. Responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, cash management, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability, along with a commitment to teamwork and high-quality service.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with a high degree of accuracy and in accordance with District policies and GAAP (Governmental Accounting Standards Board standards)
    • Review, code, and enter invoices and cash receipts in a timely and accurate manner
    • Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts and credit balances
    • Monitor cash balances, transfers, and deposit records with careful attention to detail
    • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper classification of debits and credits
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for District and school accounts
    • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and supporting documentation
    • Generate financial reports for programs and departments
    • Support the District's annual audit and respond to requests for documentation
    • Assist with cash flow tracking for school and District activities
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience required
    • Knowledge of fund accounting and GAAP (GASB standards)
    • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and financial processes
    • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace
    • Strong organizational skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
