    About This Position

    Northbrook | Glenview School District 30 is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced District Accounting Coordinator to join our Fiscal Services team. This 12-month position is based at the District Office and reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. The District Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the district, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, accounts payable processing, financial reporting, and audit coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience with school district financial systems, and the initiative to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced business office environment.

    Qualifications

    • Strong accounting skills and/or equivalent business office experience
    • Knowledge of GAAP
    • Understanding of fund accounting principles specific to educational institutions
    • Familiarity with state and federal reporting requirements for school districts
    • Knowledge of audit requirements and procedures
    • Proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, and other spreadsheet/financial reporting applications
    • Experience with Skyward financial software preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
