HornBill has a client that is seeking a Director of State and Local Taxes in Roseland, New Jersey (NJ). Summary: A regional CPA firm with offices in New York and New Jersey is seeking a Director or Manager of State and Local Taxes for their beautiful suburban New Jersey office. The Director will work with the firm's Partners, Directors and Managers to provide first-class service to clients on state and local tax issues. This is a great opportunity for a SALT expert looking to provide a high level of management and delivery of SALT services to clients. Thus is a very competitive comp package and relatively good work/life balance! Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with firm management in identifying client issues and communicating with client personnel
- Participate with companies in analyzing state tax considerations related to business restructuring and transactions
- Formulate and deliver innovative tax planning strategies
- Research and consult on complex tax matters
- Focus on development and growth of SALT projects
- Supervise, mentor and develop staff members
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or MST/MBA preferred
- 8+ years related experience, with a focus in providing state and local tax consulting services
- Background in both tax consulting and tax compliance
- Proven ability to manage and grow strong client relationships
- Highly motivated
- Strong communication and tax research skills
- The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of state and local tax planning, consulting and compliance work; The candidate must have experience in Tax compliance
