Director of Procurement and Logistics Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the company's overall procurement, logistics, materials management, inventory, and supply chain strategy.
- Build scalable supply chain processes, procedures, systems, controls, and performance metrics.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier sourcing, RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, contract negotiations, and supplier agreements.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier and vendor relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and major supplier agreements.
- Lead procurement activities supporting capital projects, manufacturing operations, and ongoing business needs.
- Coordinate sourcing and procurement of engineered equipment, industrial materials, components, services, and other project-related requirements.
- Manage supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and capacity.
- Develop supplier qualification, scorecard, risk-management, and contingency-planning programs.
- Partner closely with engineering, project management, operations, finance, and executive leadership.
- Support procurement planning, project scheduling, supplier coordination, expediting, forecasting, and long-lead material management.
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to support project schedules and operational continuity.
- Lead domestic and international logistics activities.
- Coordinate freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Oversee material planning, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, material tracking, and inventory accuracy.
- Develop procurement and logistics KPIs, reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and supply chain analytics.
- Identify cost-savings and process-improvement opportunities without sacrificing quality, schedule, or operational requirements.
- Provide hands-on support across procurement, logistics, supplier management, inventory, and materials activities while developing the infrastructure needed to scale the function.
- Develop the long-term organizational structure and resource plan for the supply chain function as the organization grows.
- Travel periodically to supplier locations, manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, warehouses, and project sites.
- Strong knowledge of procurement, strategic sourcing, logistics, materials management, inventory control, and supplier management.
- Strong contract negotiation and commercial negotiation skills.
- Experience supporting capital projects and project-driven procurement environments.
- Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and significant procurement spend.
- Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation and logistics.
- Ability to establish procurement and supply chain processes, systems, procedures, and controls.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to balance cost, quality, schedule, and operational risk.
- Ability to operate successfully in a lean, growing organization.
- Hands-on leadership style with the willingness and ability to execute tactical responsibilities when needed.
- Highly self-directed with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working with ERP, procurement, reporting, and project-management systems.
- Ability to develop KPIs, dashboards, forecasts, and supply chain reporting.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, business administration, operations management, or a related field required.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or materials management required.
- 5+ years of leadership experience required.
- Experience within industrial, manufacturing, EPC, energy, chemical, petrochemical, or other project-driven environments required.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating major supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
- Experience managing significant procurement spend and complex supplier networks.
- Experience supporting capital projects and long-lead procurement activities.
- Experience building or scaling procurement and supply chain processes and programs.
- Experience working directly with executive leadership.
- Experience with international projects, global suppliers, modular fabrication, or multiple concurrent capital projects preferred.
- Experience working within a startup, emerging company, or high-growth environment is a plus.
- MBA, master's degree, or professional supply chain certification such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM is a plus.
