What will you do?

Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Close Management

• Own the month-end close process, ensuring it runs smoothly, efficiently, and without surprises.
• Review and approve key accounting entries, reconciliations, and estimates with precision and confidence.
• Deliver accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with external tax support to ensure all tax balances are properly captured and reflected.
Accounting Policy & Technical Expertise
• Bring deep expertise in ASPE and IFRS, translating technical guidance into practical, business-friendly outcomes.
• Partner with the CFO on complex accounting judgments that require an executive lens.
• Own and evolve accounting policies to stay aligned with group requirements and best practices.
• Assess the accounting impact of new initiatives, ensuring clarity before complexity creeps in.
• Act as the go-to for auditors and group finance on technical accounting matters.
Internal Controls & Governance
• Build and maintain a strong, scalable control environment that protects the integrity of the financials.
• Ensure key controls are documented, executed, and continuously improved.
• Oversee the full control framework, including processes supported by external partners.
Financial Transformation & Process Improvement
• Lead the design and evolution of Controllership processes that actually work (goodbye clunky workarounds).
• Develop clear, usable documentation: from SOPs to close playbooks and control narratives.
• Champion automation, efficiency, and data quality improvements across Finance.
• Play a leading role in ERP and broader finance transformation initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Progressive accounting experience of 10 – 12+ years.
• CPA (or equivalent certification) required.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
• Experience in a group or subsidiary reporting environment preferred.
• Experience in other finance functions & finance transformation experience an asset.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP, OneStream, or similar tools considered an asset.

Other information:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• This is a remote role. Travel to Invermere, BC would be required a minimum of twice per year. Some additional travel may be required for the role.
• This is a full-time, permanent position in the Finance department, working regular business hours with core collaboration hours of 9am – 3pm Mountain Time.

Compensation:
The range offered for this position is: $170,000$190,000 annually.
Compensation offered within this range is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, qualifications, experience and credentials.
