About the Role

We're looking for a leader who enjoys building systems, improving processes, developing people, and creating a finance department capable of supporting our client's next stage of growth.
One of your first major responsibilities will be leading the successful transition to an internally managed Finance & Accounting department while maintaining financial accuracy, strong internal controls, and business continuity.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving efficiency, solving problems, and helping leadership make smarter business decisions through meaningful financial information.

Core Responsibilities

Department Leadership:
• Lead and develop the Finance & Accounting function while providing executive oversight and accountability for Human Resources.
• Coach, mentor, and develop three direct reports: Accounts Receivable Billing Coordinator, Accounts Payable Billing Coordinator, and HR Generalist.
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Establish department KPIs and performance expectations.
• Create scalable finance systems that support company growth.
Accounting Operations:
• Month-end close
• Financial statement preparation
• General ledger accuracy
• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts payable
• Accounts receivable
• Internal controls
• QuickBooks Online administration
• Accounting calendar
• Recurring accounting workflows
Financial Management:
• Cash flow forecasting
• Department budget reporting
• Financial analysis
• Profitability reporting
• Revenue and expense analysis
• EOS Scorecard financial metrics
• KPI reporting
• Executive financial reporting
Human Resources Leadership & Oversight:
• Lead, coach, and develop the HR Generalist.
• Establish clear priorities, service standards, KPIs, and accountability for the HR function.
• Ensure HR policies, processes, documentation, and compliance practices are consistently maintained.
• Partner with the HR Generalist and leadership on workforce planning, headcount, compensation planning, and organizational needs.
• Ensure recruiting, onboarding, performance management administration, employee relations support, and offboarding processes are operating effectively.
• Provide guidance, prioritization, and escalation support to the HR Generalist while keeping the HR structure lean and appropriate for an 18-person organization.
• Partner with leadership to ensure people-related decisions consider both organizational needs and financial impact.
• Ensure payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee data are properly coordinated between HR and Finance.
• Support the HR Generalist with complex or sensitive HR matters while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Build a strong partnership between Finance, HR, and department leaders that supports accountability, employee experience, and company growth.
Process Improvement & Automation:
• Documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Eliminating manual processes
• Implementing automation where appropriate
• Leveraging AI to improve efficiency
• Improving reporting accuracy
• Building scalable workflows
External Relationships:
Serve as the primary point of contact with:
• CPA
• Payroll provider
• External accounting firm (during transition)

Requisitos

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Advanced QuickBooks Online experience.
• Experience leading month-end close.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience improving accounting processes.
• Comfortable working in a fast-growing entrepreneurial company.
• Experience managing remote teams is preferred.
• Experience overseeing, partnering closely with, or managing a Human Resources generalist function is strongly preferred.
