MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at least (A) six (6) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in financial management work (i.e. budgeting, accounting, auditing, management analysis, program evaluation, financial reporting of program results), of which (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience.

II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience.

III. A Graduate degree or higher in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience.

IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required (A) experience.

Job Opening: 

The Executive Office of Veterans Services is seeking a their next Director of Budget and Accounting to join their team!

As a key contributor to EOVS’s mission, the Director of Budget and Accounting oversees essential financial and operational functions, ensuring the effective management and allocation of resources in support of these programs and initiatives.

Budget\: The Director is responsible for directing the development, preparation, and implementation of the agency budget. The Director also manages and reports on the budget revenues and expenditures. The Director is responsible for updating processes to take advantage of the newest technologies and fiscal management best practices. The Director ensures expenditure comply with the relevant requirements and guidelines of the Office of the State Comptroller, Administration and Finance, House and Senate Ways and Means committees, federal awards, and other regulations and laws that apply.

Accounting\: The Director is responsible for driving all activities related to accounting processes & procedures, standard reporting processes, and audit support. The Director will ensure timely and accurate daily receivables, payables, and payroll workflows. The director will provide guidance to manage the accounts payable processes ensuring disbursement of monthly invoices and that payments follow Comptroller policy on Intergovernmental Business
