Position Summary

The Director / Controller leads the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, overseeing Payroll, Accounts Payable, and the General Ledger, and partnering closely with FP&A on budgeting and forecasting. This role owns the monthly close process, internal controls, and financial reporting accuracy, and is a key driver of the company's continued use and optimization of NetSuite as the accounting system of record.

Key Responsibilities

•       Oversee and manage the Payroll, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

•       Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

•       Serve as the primary functional owner of NetSuite for accounting, including chart of accounts maintenance, workflow configuration, and reporting.

•       Partner with FP&A on budgeting and forecasting.

•       Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure GAAP compliance.

•       Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages for the VP of Finance and executive team.

•       Manage external audit and tax preparation processes, serving as primary liaison with auditors and tax advisors.

•       Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities within the accounting function, particularly within NetSuite.

•       Mentor, develop, and manage accounting staff across Payroll, AP, and GL.

Qualifications

•       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.

•       7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or accounting leadership role.

•       Hands-on NetSuite experience required, including system administration, reporting, and process configuration.

•       Strong experience managing transactional accounting functions, including AR, AP, credit, and payroll.

•       Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close processes.

•       Experience leading and developing accounting professionals.

•       Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of attention to detail.

•       Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

•       Advanced Excel skills; experience with FP&A tools and reporting a plus.

Preferred Skills

•       Prior experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment.

•       Experience with NetSuite implementations, integrations, or system migrations.

•       Familiarity with cost accounting principles and practices.
