Director, Non-Gaming Accounting

Coming soon to the Las Vegas Strip, Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a fully integrated luxury resort offering world-class hospitality, gaming, dining, entertainment and retail. Positioned on the 50-yard line of the Strip, the resort will feature a nearly 700 ft. guitar-shaped hotel that will change the Las Vegas skyline. The finished complex will feature over 3,700 hotel rooms, approximately 175,000 square feet of gaming space, two spas, multiple pools, live entertainment venues and dozens of restaurants, lounges and retail outlets.

Job Summary:

The Director of Non-Gaming Accounting at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is a senior finance leader responsible for the strategic oversight, execution, and integrity of all non-gaming accounting operations for the property, including Hotel, Food & Beverage, Entertainment and Retail. This role serves as a trusted business partner to executive leadership, Operations, and Corporate Finance, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, timely close processes, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while supporting the financial health and strategic objectives of the organization. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

• Direct and oversee the daily revenue audits for all Hotel, Food & Beverage, Entertainment and Retail operations of the property. 

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all non-gaming accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations. 

• Direct and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established deadlines. 

• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports, variance analyses, and management presentations for property leadership and corporate stakeholders. 

• Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency. 

• Partner with Corporate Finance, Internal Audit, and external auditors to support audits, reviews, and compliance activities. 

• Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and reserve analyses, ensuring proper documentation and audit trails are maintained. 

• Provide leadership in identifying process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities to drive efficiency and accuracy. 

• Monitor financial risks and proactively address accounting issues, discrepancies, or control gaps. 

• Lead, develop, and mentor the property accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. 

• Establish performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support professional development of accounting staff. 

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to non-gaming financial operations. 

• Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on accounting matters, financial impacts, and strategic initiatives. 

• Support new initiatives, projects, and system implementations related to finance and accounting. 

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution . 

• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting experience, including at least five (5) years in an accounting leadership or director level role. 

• Experience leading accounting operations within a large, complex organization; hospitality or casino environment strongly preferred. 

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and month end close processes. 

• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership and cross functional teams. 

• Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage high performing accounting teams. 

• Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. 

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills. 

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non financial stakeholders. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. 

• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required licenses, work cards, and certifications as required by federal, state, and local regulations. 

Work Environment: 

• Physical demands include standing, walking, and noise exposure for extended periods 

• Position requires occasional lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds 

• May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including secondhand smoke. 

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
