Accountabilities / Responsibilities
This role will provide support as a functional accounting leader and is accountable for the overall business planning, direction, coordination and support of Market Accounting books of businesses and initiatives. The primary role is to create a clear and value-add partnership with key stakeholders in order to support our business growth strategy through driving quality, scalability, and transparency.
This role will focus on managing and owning relationships associated with our key stakeholders including ACE, by providing direction, coordination and support in order to be a strategic business partner. A key part of this job is strategic planning, as it is the responsibility of the Director to promote and manage the primary objectives and initiatives related to both the owned book of business as well as the functional department initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight to functional department accounting processes including but not limited to the review and communication of financial results, preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, and the processing of partnership distributions
- Oversee the execution of the month-end close process for the department
- Develop a business strategy/vision for implementation within the owned books of business and functional department
- Establish, assess and own key reporting metrics to ensure our continued success of our value proposition
- Present new opportunities to enhance existing processes and relationships within books of business
- Partner with Operators to continue to drive value for our accounting services provided
- Identifies and effectively engages all stakeholders, provides visibility and transparency to functional deparment partnership so that issue mitigation and decision making can be done in a timely manner
- Engage key stakeholders for feedback and apply feedback regarding accounting support provided for books of business
- Position self as an ambassador for field facing accounting partnership for Support Services and Enterprise awareness
- Actively seek networking opportunities with the organization
- Lead and own IT projects and initiatives that provide value and cost efficiency opportunities for functional department and/or ACE
- Act autonomously and creatively in solving complex problems, and by applying seasoned knowledge, skills, and experience to quickly come up with creative value-add solutions
- Anticipates the needs of other Accounting lanes and SCA departments; a proactive approach
- Full knowledge and understanding of overall accounting processes and how investments impact services provided
- Understand and be able to provide support for other lanes through partnership
- Support the forecast and budget process for the functional department
- Be a coaching and mentoring resource to a team of accounting professionals including functional department and ACE
- Own department big rocks and resulting strategic initiatives, supporting managers in the execution
Qualifications
Total education, vocational training and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (healthcare experience is preferred)
- Prior manager experience required

- Advanced level of proficiency in Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook software.
- Advanced level of proficiency in Office 365 platforms and tools.
- Ability to draw insights from unstructured data and understand opportunities for improvement with little to no direction.
