Position Summary:
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis provides strategic leadership for financial forecasting, capital planning, budgeting, and performance analytics across Trinity Health and its affiliates. This role oversees the development, interpretation, and presentation of financial data that supports informed decision-making, operational performance, and long-term organizational sustainability. The Director ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting while guiding teams responsible for financial analysis, cost reporting, chargemaster oversight, provider enrollment, and related functions. Working closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, and external auditors, this position fosters collaboration, transparent reporting, and sound financial stewardship within a disciplined, team-oriented financial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, analysis, and communication of financial plans, budgets, capital forecasts, and monthly performance reports for Trinity Health and its affiliates.
- Oversee consolidated financial statement reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and GAAP guidelines.
- Direct financial reporting functions, including cost reporting, tax-related activities, contract modeling, chargemaster oversight, and provider enrollment operations.
- Collaborate with executive and operational leaders to evaluate financial trends, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, coordinating required documentation, audit processes, and year-end financial submissions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for financial analysts and support teams, promoting analytical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- CPA or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP).
Educational Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
- A master's degree is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- Seven to ten (7–10) years of work experience within the healthcare industry or public accounting.

Physical Requirements:
The Director is frequently required to sit for extended periods while working with financial systems, analyzing data, and participating in meetings. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching are needed when collaborating with staff, attending departmental sessions, or reviewing materials. Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are necessary to work effectively with computers, financial reports, and communication tools.
Environmental Requirements:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with routine use of computers, financial software, and communication technology. The role may experience frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines associated with financial cycles and reporting requirements. Occasional on-site meetings across Trinity Health locations may be required, with adherence to organizational safety, confidentiality, and information governance standards.
