Position Summary: The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a senior finance leader responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This role serves as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing insights that support investment decisions, cost management, and long-term growth.
The FP&A Director combines financial expertise with strategic leadership to support the organization’s financial health through sound planning, strong analysis, and effective executive communication.

- Lead the FP&A function: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling to support executive decision-making.
- Develop policies and procedures: Establish standards for financial data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Build financial models and forecasts: Develop and refine models, scenario analyses, and long-range financial plans.
- Monitor performance: Review of financial statements, reports, and key metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead budgeting and capital planning: Direct the annual budget process, including capital expenditure planning.
- Prepare management reports: Deliver quarterly and annual reports for senior leadership and the board.
- Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with departments to align financial strategies with business goals.

Education and/or Experience
- Experience: Typically, 10+ years in FP&A or finance management; 15+ years of total experience is often preferred by employers.
- Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, financial modeling, data analysis, and finance systems.
- Soft skills: Strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
- Industry knowledge: Deep understanding of the organization’s industry and financial operations.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and prescriptions.
- Ability to write routine notes and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
