Senior Risk Analyst

Hours: Fulltime, 40 hours

Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The Position

As a Senior Risk Analyst you will play an important role in safeguarding and enhancing the performance of our trading, refining, and fuel supply business. Acting as a key link between risk management and commercial teams, you will analyse complex trading positions, interpret market movements, and ensure financial performance is accurately captured and understood. In this role, you will go beyond pure reporting: you will provide insight, challenge assumptions, and actively contribute to better decision-making. You will work closely with traders, finance, and senior management, gaining a comprehensive view of the value chain, from crude sourcing and refinery optimisation to logistics, biofuel blending and customer sales. This exposure will allow you to understand how market fundamentals, operational realities, and trading strategies come together. You will also play an important role in improving systems, processes, and reporting capabilities. Whether it’s developing new analytical tools, enhancing ETRM functionality, or identifying efficiencies in workflows, your contributions will directly shape how the organisation manages risk and measures performance. This is a highly visible role with regular interaction with senior stakeholders, including the VP Risk, and offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced and evolving energy environment.
