Our customers are domestic and foreign air carriers and other companies that outsource their air cargo lift requirements. We, through our leasing and airline subsidiaries, are the world's largest owner and operator of converted Boeing 767 freighter aircraft.

Through our principal subsidiaries, including three airlines with separate and distinct U.S. FAA Part 121 Air Carrier certificates, we provide aircraft leasing, air cargo lift, passenger ACMI and charter services, aircraft maintenance services and airport ground services.

Position Summary

The Director, Corporate FP&A leads consolidated financial planning and analysis for Air Transport Services Group. This position owns the enterprise forecast and budget rollup across all business units, the financial planning center of excellence, executive and Board-level reporting, and long-range strategic and capital allocation modeling.

The role is the connective tissue of the ATSG finance organization. It sets the standards the business unit finance teams plan and report against, owns the systems and data model that make consolidated reporting possible, produces the materials through which executive leadership, the Board, and ownership see the company, and builds the long-range models that support capital allocation and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Consolidated Planning, Forecasting, and Rollup

• Own the consolidated annual budget and monthly forecast processes across all ATSG business units, including calendar, timeline, submission requirements, and review cadence.
• Consolidate business unit submissions into an enterprise view of revenue, earnings, EBITDA, cash flow, capital expenditure, headcount, and balance sheet, coordinating intercompany eliminations with the Controller organization.
• Partner with business unit Finance leaders to ensure consistency in methodology, assumptions, and stats before consolidation.
• Produce enterprise variance analysis explaining performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, with clear attribution to business unit and driver.
• Measure and report forecast accuracy by entity and drive accountability for improvement.

Center of Excellence and Standardization

• Establish and maintain the ATSG key performance indicator dictionary, including standard definitions for operational and financial metrics and unit cost measures across every entity.
• Define and enforce standard planning methodology, model architecture, chart of accounts alignment, driver definitions, and assumption governance across the business unit finance teams.
• Own the library of standard templates for forecasting, management reporting, business case preparation, and capital requests.
• Own the enterprise finance calendar, including forecast, reporting, and review milestones, in coordination with the Controller organization’s close process.
• Serve as a subject matter resource to the business unit finance teams on modeling technique, methodology, and analytical approach.

Systems, Data, and Analytics

• Own the enterprise performance management and planning system, including selection support, implementation, configuration, administration, and ongoing enhancement.
• Partner with Information Technology and the Controller organization to define the financial data model, hierarchies, and mappings required for consolidated reporting and analysis.
• Reduce dependence on manual and spreadsheet-based consolidation through system enablement, automation, and standardization.
• Develop management reporting and dashboarding capability that connects operational and financial data across entities into a single, trusted view.

Executive, Board, and Sponsor Reporting

• Own the monthly and quarterly management reporting package for executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and ownership, including narrative, analysis, and supporting materials.
• Design reporting that leads with actionable insights, with standardized operational and financial metrics presented consistently across entities and periods.
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and delivery of Board and sponsor materials against a fixed calendar, managing contributions from across the finance organization and the business units.
• Support lender, sponsor, and other external reporting requirements in coordination with Treasury and the Controller organization.

Long-Range Planning and Strategic Modeling

• Build and own the consolidated long-range financial model, including integrated income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow projections by entity and in aggregate.
• Develop scenario, sensitivity, and stress analysis to support strategic planning, fleet planning, customer concentration assessment, and capital structure decisions.
• Provide analytical support for value creation planning, including quantification and tracking of initiatives against baseline.
• Support evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures, new business lines, and other strategic opportunities, including returns analysis and integration modeling.
• Model the enterprise-level impact of major commercial decisions and capital commitments originating in the business units.

Capital Allocation and Governance

• Own the enterprise capital allocation and investment approval process, including business case standards, hurdle rates, approval thresholds, and delegated authority framework.
• Consolidate and prioritize capital requests across business units, providing an objective, comparable view of risk-adjusted return and strategic fit.
• Maintain the consolidated capital plan and track commitments, spend, and returns against approved business cases.
• Establish and administer post-investment review discipline, comparing realized performance to business case assumptions and feeding the findings back into future decisions.

Team Building and Operating Model

• Recruit, lead, and develop the Corporate FP&A team, including analytical and systems capability.
• Build scalable processes that allow the enterprise planning and reporting cycle to run reliably and repeatably with a lean team.
• Promote a culture of credibility through analytical rigor, accountability, transparency, and intellectual honesty.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive finance experience, with significant time in corporate or consolidated financial planning and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience owning a multi-entity budget, forecast, and long-range planning cycle end to end.
• Demonstrated experience preparing executive and Board-level reporting and presenting to senior audiences.
• Demonstrated experience building integrated three-statement and long-range financial models.
• Experience defining and driving adoption of financial standards, definitions, or methodology across a decentralized organization.
• Experience implementing or administering an enterprise performance management, consolidation, or planning system.
• Prior experience building or substantially rebuilding a corporate FP&A function.
• Exceptional financial modeling capability, including integrated three-statement modeling, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and returns analysis.
• Strong understanding of consolidation mechanics, intercompany eliminations, and management versus statutory reporting views.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with the judgment to distinguish material value drivers from noise.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to construct a clear narrative from complex financial data for executive and Board audiences.
• Ability to influence and drive standardization across teams that do not report to this position.
• High standard of accuracy and intellectual honesty, with the willingness to challenge submissions and assumptions constructively.
• Ability to manage a demanding recurring calendar while advancing multi-month build project
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and general proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with enterprise performance management and planning platforms.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control disciplines.
• Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools.
• Must be able to work in a professional office environment in Wilmington, Ohio. Occasional travel, generally in the range of ten percent, may be required to support business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in a private equity-backed or sponsor-owned environment, including value creation plan reporting.
• Experience in a capital-intensive industry such as aviation, transportation, logistics, leasing, or industrials.
• Experience in a multi-entity holding company structure with decentralized operating businesses.
• Investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, or private equity experience.
• Experience leading a finance systems or data warehouse implementation.
• Productivity enhancements through the use of BI and/or AI driven dashboards.
• Prior experience establishing a center of excellence or shared standards function.
