Reporting to the Deputy City Treasurer and Branch Manager, Finance and Treasury, the Director is responsible for the corporate accounting and financial reporting functions, development of key financial policies and controls, and managing the City’s cash handling and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance activities.

The Director leads a team of financial professionals in the development, implementation and management of activities that fall within the following key areas\: internal management and Council financial reporting; legislative & regulatory financial reporting requirements; payroll and benefits accounting and reporting; implementation of accounting standards, financial controls and policy development; cash handling procedures and PCI compliance; and sustainment, training and optimization needs related to the City’s financial system.
