Virginia Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Dental Insurance & Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our Huguenot Specialty Center (Orthodontics and Pediatrics). Must have dental office experience.
Pay range is $20-$25/hour based on experience. Hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday.
The Insurance and Accounts Receivable Coordinator is responsible for balancing and maintaining patient accounts and updating insurance information to patient accounts. This role also monitors past due accounts, files claims, completes pretreatment estimates, and follows up with the insurance companies in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
· Verify insurance and update patient account prior to the appointment
· Update insurance carrier notes and coverage tables
· Point of contact for patients and staff on insurance
· File all insurance claims daily
· Reconcile insurance claims to patient accounts
· Work with insurance companies on refunds
· File all pre-authorizations daily and follow up on pre-authorizations aged 30+ days
· Maintain patient account balances and answer patient billing questions
· Take patient payments and present treatment plans
· Analyze insurance aged reports (except if that office has centralized insurance)
Minimum Qualifications
· 3 or more years of dental office experience

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
