    TITLE:                         DATA ACCOUNTANT 

    QUALIFICATIONS:    High School diploma. College degree in accounting, finance area preferred

                                        Equivalent combination of education and training considered.

                                        3-5 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

                                        Special accounting/bookkeeping courses desired.

                                        Extensive computer skills.

    REPORTS TO:             ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESS AND FINANCE

    JOB GOAL:

    Responsible for implementing the data processing policies of the district including a schedule of all activities to affect maximum usage of the data processing equipment.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    • Records all miscellaneous transactions of monies received; moves and forwards all cash flows from investment to accounts; reconciles all district bank accounts; 

    • Coordinates and maintains a complete and systematic set of data files pertaining to financial transactions and accounts of the district; 

    • Serves as Data Accountant for the district business office, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable;

    •   Maintains audit trail for all general ledger; audits entries for auditor year-end closing; 

    • Maintains district grant accounts, maintenance and support; provides district grant folders for year-end audits and state audits;

    •   Generates various reports necessary for the financial business of the district; 

    • Completes expenditure reports for submission to the State Board of Education Assists in the preparation of reimbursement claims and assists with grant proposals when required;

    •                Completes yearly reporting for MOE, Excess Cost, ASA, EIS salary, I-Star special education personnel and quarterly reports for Medicaid Outreach reimbursement;
    •        Assists with annual budget and completes budget transfers as needed;
    •        Assists with payroll audits by TRS & IMRF;
    •       Reconciles canceled payroll and accounts payable checks with bank statements and verifies statement balance;
    •       Monitors financial data detail; does journal entries, account adjustments and etc. for corrections as needed;
    •       Assists the Board of Education Treasurer in preparing the monthly Treasurer's reports;
    •       Assists with ACA reporting and Health Care questions;
    •       Processes documents and materials for financial institution, SinglePoint and credit/debit card institution;
    •       Serves as backup to Payroll & Accounts Payable;
    •   Performs other related duties as assigned.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Twelve Months (260/261 Days) Classified position with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education.

    EVALUATION:         Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.

    SALARY RANGE:    Per Board Approval in the range of $70,000 - $80,000 with Rolling Interviews
