Credit Risk Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Controller to oversee the full finance function across multiple entities during a 16-month maternity leave coverage. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a small-to-mid-sized business environment and can operate with a high degree of autonomy. This is an internal role with Integrated Staffing Limited, based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will oversee the full accounting function for Integrated Staffing Limited and its related entities, including Accountant Staffing and Administrative Staffing.

Key Responsibilities for the Job

Financial Reporting & Year-End

• Lead year-end preparation for multiple entities, including reconciliations and coordination with external public accountants
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and present results to shareholders
• Perform periodic general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations

Team Oversight

• Manage and support full-cycle accounting and payroll team members
• Ensure internal controls and operational processes are functioning effectively
• Oversee high-volume weekly payroll operations

Budgeting & Cash Flow

• Develop and manage annual budgets for operating companies
• Oversee cash flow planning across entities
• Support strategic financial planning, including shareholder-level considerations

Compliance & Regulatory

• Manage CRA accounts using Represent a Client
• Oversee preparation and filing of T4s and other statutory requirements
• Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations (WCB, extra-provincial registrations, licensing)
• Coordinate insurance renewals and maintain ongoing compliance

Operations & Administration

• Review contracts, leases, and other financial agreements as needed
• Manage banking relationships and support financing needs
• Lead or support process improvements, system implementations, and special projects

Experience & Attributes for Success

• CPA designation
• Experience with Sage 50 is considered a strong asset
• Experience with payroll compliance is considered an asset
• Proven ability to manage staff and work cross-functionally
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently

The successful candidate must be able to step into the role with minimal training and quickly assume full ownership of the finance function.
