Summary
The Credit Analyst I position is an entry-level role under the Senior Vice President/Credit Officer, involving the preparation of spreadsheets, reports, and summaries to assist in evaluating loans. The role includes analyzing financial data, assessing creditworthiness, and identifying risks, offering opportunities to learn credit policies and advance in the financial sector.
Essential Functions
- Credit Analysis and Loan Review
- Conduct comprehensive and in-depth evaluations of new credit requests, as well as renewals and amendments of existing loans, ensuring thoroughness and precision in each analysis.
- Provide insightful and detailed credit assessments that assist loan officers, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
- Develop detailed spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and expert opinions for lenders, catering to new, renewed, and ongoing loan agreements.
- Complete and ensure the accuracy and compliance of all documentation for loan approval, confirming that it meets regulatory and institutional requirements.
- Maintain a robust understanding of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures, ensuring all analyses and recommendations align with institutional standards.
- Loan Officer Support: Collaborate closely with loan officers to proactively anticipate and identify necessary documentation, facilitating smooth and timely approvals for both new and existing credit accounts. This requires effective communication and strong organizational skills to streamline the loan approval process.
- Appraisal Reviews and Loan Risk Ratings: Ensure compliance with the credit risk management policy by verifying appraisal reviews and evaluating loan risk ratings according to the established criteria.
- Produce daily and weekly departmental reports, such as the Past Due Report and Transaction Exceptions, ensuring accurate tracking of transactions and highlighting any instances of discrepancies or overdue accounts.

Education and Experience
- 1 -2 years of credit analysis experience. College degree preferred.
