Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd., a well-established CPA firm located in downtown Naperville, Illinois, is seeking an experienced CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), Senior Tax Accountant, or Tax Preparer to join our team for the 2027 tax season.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including:
- Individuals (Form 1040)
- Partnerships (Form 1065)
- S Corporations (Form 1120-S)
- Trusts and Estates (Form 1041)
- Research tax issues and identify tax-saving opportunities
- Assist with tax planning and consulting projects
- Prepare income tax basis financial statements
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax matters
- Collaborate effectively with team members in a remote environment
- Utilize firm technology, including: Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, ShareFile, and OfficeTools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of recent public accounting experience
- Experience preparing individual, partnership, and S corporation income tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
- Experience with Lacerte Tax Software
- Experience preparing fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
- Experience with multi-state tax returns
Schedule & Availability
- Seasonal position from January through April 2027
- Remote position within the United States
- Expected availability of 30+ hours per week during tax season
- Additional hours may be available during peak filing periods
