Cost Accounting Assistant Monday – Friday – Full Time Hybrid Work Capability – 3 days in the office; 2 days remote The Watkins Company has been a pioneer in natural flavoring products since 1868. Today, we are seeking a new member to join the fastest growing flavoring company in North America. The Watkins Company is excited to announce the opening for a full time, Cost Accounting Assistant located in Winona, MN. The duties and responsibilities of the Cost Accounting Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

Aggregates and compiles accounting cost reports showing total cost, selling prices, rates profits, or other cost information needed for proper cost accounting.
Calculates individual items, such as labor, materials, and time costs, relationship of sales or revenues to cost, and overhead expenditures.
Prepares and examines records such as time and production sheets, timekeeping and payroll records, operations charts, and schedules, to obtain data for calculations.
Assists in developing and maintaining accurate standard costs for current and new products.
Works closely with the Accounting and Production teams and performs analysis as needed.
Assists in monthly closing activities as they relate to the areas of COGS - including standard costs, freight, manufacturing costs and all variances.
Works with the Accounting team on the annual physical inventory process.
Maintains and ensures accurate and timely perpetual inventory and General Ledger reconciliation.
Assists in providing analysis to internal customers.
Assists in other general accounting areas, as needed.

Our ideal candidate will at minimum:

Possess or are working toward associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Minimum 6 months working in an accounting function related to cost accounting, financial analysis, and/or general accounting.
Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
