The Cost Accountant - Senior plays a key role in providing accurate, actionable cost data to support manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket operations. This position partners closely with operations and finance leadership to drive margin accuracy, inventory integrity, and continuous improvement across the business.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own product and inventory costing, including standard costs, PPV analysis, absorption, and margin reporting
- Lead standard cost setup and annual cost roll for new and existing parts
- Ensure inventory accuracy through reconciliations, cycle counts, and root-cause analysis
- Support month-end close with journal entries, cost reporting, and account reconciliations
- Provide financial analysis and insights to manufacturing leaders to improve efficiency and profitability
- Maintain integrity of cost data within the ERP system and support system/process improvements
- Assist with internal, external, SOX, and government audits
- Mentor or support other cost accounting team members as needed
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
- 5 years prior manufacturing accounting/finance experience
- Experience with US Govt cost based proposals required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Adaptability to manage multiple and varied tasks
- Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional communication, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Must be a U.S. Person
