Pay: $65,000 annually

Employ Partners is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a growing manufacturing facility in Canton, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with manufacturing experience to play a key role in financial operations, compliance, inventory accounting, and reporting within a stable, team-oriented environment.
Cost Accountant Responsibilities:
- Reconcile and maintain capital accounts including fixed assets, CIP, and tooling
- Ensure accurate capitalization and timely invoicing of tooling expenses
- Analyze payroll data and medical claims reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and financial documentation
- Assist with inventory classification, material transactions, and master data setup
- Support sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax compliance activities
- Assist with external audits, insurance renewals, and financial reporting requirements
- Analyze and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
- Support internal controls and compliance initiatives including J-SOX and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, management, and accounting teams
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Experience with internal controls and compliance processes
- Knowledge of J-SOX and/or U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Understanding of inventory and material transaction impacts within manufacturing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Team-oriented mindset with strong customer service skills
