Cost Accountant

HornBill has a client seeking Cost Accountant in Lowell, MA. Responsibilities:

• Develop/maintain manufacturing costs and inventory reporting
• Assess inventory accuracy
• Maintain standard costs
• Review standard costs versus actual costs
• Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory variances and reconcile roll forward
• Monitor and reconcile inventory liability account, track activity to purchase orders and resolve exceptions
• Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
• Prepare account analysis
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports
• Work on special projects as required
• Submit inventory and gross margin schedules to management
• Assist with accounting activities where needed

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance
• 5+ years of related experience
• Able to apply knowledge of GAAP and CAS
• Experience with equipment manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of MISys and Sage a plus
• Solid communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
