Cost Accountant

HornBill has a client seeking Cost Accountant in Lowell, MA. Responsibilities:
- Develop/maintain manufacturing costs and inventory reporting
- Assess inventory accuracy
- Maintain standard costs
- Review standard costs versus actual costs
- Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory variances and reconcile roll forward
- Monitor and reconcile inventory liability account, track activity to purchase orders and resolve exceptions
- Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls
- Prepare account analysis
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports
- Work on special projects as required
- Submit inventory and gross margin schedules to management
- Assist with accounting activities where needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance
- 5+ years of related experience
- Able to apply knowledge of GAAP and CAS
- Experience with equipment manufacturing preferred
- Knowledge of MISys and Sage a plus
- Solid communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
