- Ensure the appropriate accounting and transacting of inventory and inventory accounts. Maintain standards, monitor cycle counting program, support inventory reduction activities, support annual physical inventory, analyze excess and obsolete inventory, and makes recommendations for reductions.
- Work closely with personnel from Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, and Marketing as well as with the Finance staff.
- Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly. Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.
- Prepare cost-related studies, reports, forecasts, and analyses.
- Coordinate with all levels of the organization to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements, and operating forecasts.
- Research and prepare economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
- Develop the annual expense budgets, profit plans, monthly forecasts, and other corporate financial requirements. Maintain databases to support these tasks.
- Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documents to support the month-end closing process.
- Support mid-year/annual financial audits by providing detailed explanations & support for entries.
- Other duties may be assigned.
B.S. in Accounting and 3 or more years of experience; Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
